POEMS: Describing the mask is not the same as removing it



Lo Women!

you are a test for learned men

to reject their beast

and a sultry lullaby

for men already asleep!


Lo Women, 

Observe how you are exiled 

for the unruly thoughts men keep.

By the order of the sea

that adores the shore

yet departs from each other with ease


It breathes

inwards-    Union

Outwards-     Separation

and the longing in between. 

~



This ache for you 

is both childish and ancient. 


you are like the dew of dawn-

only those awake 

can see the sacred glint

before the day 

draws it away

هذا الشوق إليكِ


طفوليٌّ وقديمٌ في آنٍ واحد.


أنتِ كقطرات ندى الفجر -


لا يرى نورها المقدس إلا المستيقظون


قبل أن يمحوه النهار.
