Poem: The Light

Eat, Pray, Love by Ryan Murphy

I can’t focus on your walls

too tall

I’m too small-

too tired

focus on the light

Hitting the doorknob in a special way

sun gave me a light show
watching, waiting,

for the light
to stream and shimmer.

For it to hit me in a special way
I watched and waited,

sometimes the light kisses my skin
feel a surprising warmth with no touch

 faces turned to the sun
 praying for rain
