Poem: all the mountains in a little stone
Alain Delon & Romy Schneider |
Oh, I could fall in love with you,
reading out verses, trying to keep my focus
on the words, not on your freckles or your roses.
Oh, I could fall in love with you
when I saw your eyes up close
a lapis lazuli blue
feathered with black lashes
a pretty girl you’d make too.
Oof, if I fell in love with you,
I’d be a poor haggard fool,
like loving my daddy
he’s gone in the summer,
I’d cut my nested hair
and he’d ask
“who are you?”
